Age: 31. Reason for becoming a teacher: I was inspired by my junior high band director, Carole McQueen. Greatest moment as a teacher: Seeing students continue their involvement in music in high school and beyond. Most embarrassing moment as a teacher: When my podium collapsed under me during a concert. Favorite aspects of being a teacher: Influencing young people in a positive way and watching students mature into independent musicians. Least favorite part of teaching: Red tape, paperwork and superfluous responsibilities. Favorite movies: Amadeus Last book you read: Awaken the Giant Within by Anthony Robbins. Favorite hobbies: Reading, running, gym time and eating. Family: Habitually single! If you weren’t a teacher, what would you be and why? A commentator for National Public Radio.
