Large crowds rolled up for the big days this season %26mdash; Southland Racing Clubs Christmas meeting, Invercargill galloping and harness cup days and the Riverton Easter fixture.
There were not enough Easybet sellers moving among the crowds at these meetings. Clubs and the TAB are missing out on turnover by not having more sellers in the crowd.
Some racegoers dont move far, through being comfortable in hospitality tents or relaxed in the shade on hot days.
Easybet sellers need to move around all tents and social groups.
Enjoying good company and downing a few cans of beer in a tent can be more appealing than walking 50m to join a long queue to put a bet on.
We also need information booths on racecourses in Southland. The TAB should operate booths and let clubs secretarial staff concentrate on running race meetings.
At the 11th running of the Miniature Horse Trotting Cup on Sunday, Lamplight, owned and driven by Daniel Miller, came off the back mark of 20m to win.
