Year 4 and Year 5 students at De La Salle College, Malta, and St Thomas of Canterbury, Chester, UK, shared ideas and played together on-line thanks to a Comenius project which involved five European schools in Malta, England, Germany, Poland and Finland.
The theme was ‘The Wonders of Water’, and apart from sharing the outcomes of the activities they did in their own countries, the students were clearly interested in asking each other questions about themselves, their families, pets and hobbies. Technology in education has opened up new dimensions to learning and with a Skype link, internet and webcam, the children experienced a lesson with a difference.
The immediacy of it all was what filled the children with enthusiasm and made them eager to strengthen their links with their new friends abroad.
