In the Oscar-nominated documentary “War Dance,” Ugandan students displaced by civil war find hope in their country’s traditional music and dance. The film, which won the top documentary directing award at Sundance, focuses on one group of refugees trying to win Uganda’s National Music Championship from among a pool of 20,000 schools. The inspiring tale has been lauded by critics and regular old moviegoers alike, and it is showing Sunday at the Flicks as a benefit for TVTV. David Parker
