Eight Candidates Vie For Spots On Roberts Royal Court

Eight contestants are vying for this year’s Miss Roberts crown. The Royal Court will be chosen during this year’s Good Neighbor Days celebration. The Miss Roberts Queen Pageant and Good Neighbor Award take place May 30, at 7:30 p.m. in the Elementary School (Adults $5, Child $3). Following are biographical sketches of each of the contestants:

DeRosier is the daughter of Karen DeRosier and Jeff Conito. She is 17 years old and has two sisters, Renae and Robyn. Shayna is sponsored by Rapid Service Oil, St. Augustine Salon and V2K Window Treatments.

Morris is the daughter of Bob and Lori Morris and is 17 years old. Morris has one sister, Carolyn. Morris’ sponsors are L&M’s Bar and Grill, St. Croix Tree Service and T&T Electric.

Morris’ hobbies include hanging out with friends, shopping, swimming in her pool, jamming out on Rock Band, staying active with the RUCCY Youth Group at her church and road tripping across the country.

Nygaard is the 17-year-old daughter of Tim and Sue Nygaard. Nygaard has one brother, Nick. She is sponsored by County Construction, Miller Transport and Roberts Grocery.

Nygaard’s hobbies include working, hanging out with friends and family and dancing.

While at school, Nygaard participates in FFA, Family Leaders of America, Future Business Leaders of America, prom committee and dance team.

Nygaard says, “I love Roberts. It’s such a cute little town. The people are also so friendly and happy. It’s awesome.” She enjoys many things about Good Neighbor Days including the demolition derby and the tractor pulls. Her favorite memory would be “going to the parade and eating pizza sandwiches on the curb.”
